PROJECT "CORNDOG ONE"
MULTI-PURPOSE UNIT:
The trailer-mounted multi-purpose
unit was developed with federal grant assistance. Nicknamed "Corndog
One" (note the "serving" counter outside the pass-through), this equipment
is intended for a variety of uses including specialized communications, as
a focus point/backdrop for public education and outreach, as a mobile
emergency management office, or in support of a mobile command post.
The communications suite consists of the full spectrum of public safety
radio and a comprehensive Ham radio package. A pneumatic 40 foot tower
supports the antenna array.
An on-board computer and
multifunction printer, lighting, and a complex battery system, are
supported by a 2000 watt generator. Storage cabinets and countertops are
stainless steel. The light weight and mobile 10' "Pace"
cargo trailer allows for easy maneuverability in the difficult conditions
frequently found in local emergency operations. "Corndog One" was
designed entirely in-house and developed with the help of volunteers from
our Amateur Radio community.
