There are 156 unique neighborhood groups in Jefferson County.  Using the average of 15 homes per neighborhood, that makes 2,340 prepared households.  With an average of 3 persons per household, about 7,020 people are involved to some degree in emergency preparedness activities.

 

 

Individual and Family Emergency Preparedness Projects

Some of our organized neighborhoods are structured and formal, some informal pot-luck conversations, and some are linked with other activities like homeowners associations or block watch.  The objective is to support taking personal responsibility for individual and family disaster preparedness.  For information on which Jefferson County/Port Townsend neighborhoods are developing preparedness projects, contact the Department of Emergency Management at 360-385-9368, or by e-mail at jcdem@co.jefferson.wa.us.
